About me
My name is Larry Zehr
I was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1958.
I grew up in a Christian home and went to East Bend Mennonite Church in Fisher, Ill.
When school started I was enrolled at Fisher Elementary and went from 1st grade to 6th grade. I accepted the Lord as my Savior and was baptized in 1969. My father was transferred to Denver, Co. were he worked for Kelvinator inc. in 1970.
In 1973 my father was transferred again to Grand Rapids, Mich. the headquarters for Kelvinator inc.
As a family we started attending Kentwood Christian Church in 1973 Kent Hickerson was the Sr. pastor and I've been here ever since.
I attended youth group at church until I graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1976.
I met my wife Laurie in 1983 and we were soon married that same year at Kentwood Christian Church.
We had 3 sons Daniel, Adam, and James.
Laurie and I taught Sunday eve. 4th & 5th grade youth group for 10 yrs.
I served as a Deacon in the church for 6 yrs. and an Elder in the church for 10 yrs.
I've always enjoyed cooking for missions banquet dinners, and volunteering for clean up days in the Spring, and re-modeling construction projects at church over the years.
I've been attending, serving, and working at Kentwood Christian Church functions for the past 38 yrs. this is my home church.
