Kyle Wartella

About me

Kyle Wartella was raised in Dorr, Michigan. After high school Kyle attended Grand
Valley State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public and
Nonprofit Administration. Kyle first came to Kentwood Christian Church during his
time in college. He married his wife Kristen in 2006 and now resides in Wyoming,
Michigan with their children Bryce (3), Sadie (1), and are expecting their third child in
June of 2011.

After spending a few years in Sales, Kyle felt God calling him into ministry. Feeling
God had confirmed any suspicions he had, Kyle enrolled at Grand Rapids Theological
Seminary, where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Intercultural Ministries.
During his time in seminary Kyle worked at Kentwood Christian Church within various
ministries. Following his time at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, Kyle agreed to
become the Minister of Involvement and Outreach.

Kyle brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to Kentwood Christian Church,
challenging the congregation to be active within the church and the community. He
believes disciples of Christ are made to change the world, everyday attempting to redeem
culture. Kyle and his wife enjoy attending sporting events, trying the newest restaurants
and spending time outside with their children. Kyle’s driving force behind his life and
ministry comes from Romans 1:16: “I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the
power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the
Gentile.”
