Faith Share Movement—Strategy 1

This Sunday, May 26, 2013 the Kentwood Christian Church family will conclude the sermon series “The Emasculation of Truth” and transition into the 13 week “I Believe Outloud” sermon series. To help prepare us for the new series you will receive the book “More Than a Carpenter” by author and apologist Josh McDowell. This is a great book on many levels. Our hope for you is that:

It will help you gain a greater ‘intellectual understanding’ of why you believe in Jesus and the Bible.

It will give you a conversation starter to discuss these two issues intelligently with others.

*It will serve as a tool to share with the people God brings into your life.

The Bible teaches that God guides his servants into the lives of others (divine appointments) for the purpose of changing their lives and bringing them into His church. All we are asked to do is to plant and water the seed, God alone will cause the growth. Let us all pray for a movement to begin within our family and that we will all accept the call to ‘believe out loud’ and engage the people head on as the Holy Spirit works through us!

Consider this…

Jodi Arias after being convicted of the murder of one time boyfriend Travis Alexander in a brief interview stated she would rather die than spend the remainder of her life in prison. Her exact statement was ‘Death is the ultimate freedom, so I’d rather just have my freedom.’ Her statement has caused nonstop discussion by news anchors whether or not she really wants to die or was it just a premeditated psychological tactic to get life in prison.

However, what caught my attention about her comment was the skewed view that somehow death will bring her ultimate freedom! It’s true that death is the ultimate freedom for the life that has been born again! But it is the ultimate hellish imprisonment for those who have not been born again. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that a person dies once and faces the ultimate judgment. The judgment to everlasting life or everlasting punishment! Remember the rich man in Luke 16? When he died death wasn’t the ultimate freedom for him! He was in torment! This misguided woman needs to know Jesus—for then she will know the truth, the truth will set her free, both in this life and even life after death!

The Kentwood Christian Church faith share movement, “I Believe Outloud” has at its core the desire to share this truth with multitudes of people like Jodi Arias, who are living in the darkness of ignorance and desperately need to see the light!

May God send someone to share the real Jesus with Jodi Arias and may God send you into someone’s life to share Jesus as well. Oh Lord Almighty, let all who are born again cry out loud, “Here I am Lord, send me!”

A simple question for you!
The honest answer may be unsettling. Here it goes… Do YOU love the lost? Do YOU care that people without Jesus will be separated from God for eternity? If YOU love and care about the soul that is lost, YOU will make proclaiming Jesus a priority in YOUR life! Please begin praying for the Spirit’s leading and arranging of divine appointments for YOU, so that YOU can share Jesus in the most compelling way. This summer let the Kentwood Christian Church, partner together and begin a ‘faith share movement’ with no limits. Let us together ‘believe outloud’ in the Bible and God. No more passivity, no more neutrality, no more shrinking back, no more fear, but only a forceful advancement of the kingdom of God Almighty. Oh heavenly Father give us a conviction for lost souls.

Senior Recognition Sunday May 19, 2013

This Sunday BJ George will be speaking to our senior graduates at the AM worship service to recognize their accomplishment and give them a charge to go into the world living for God! Spencer and his wife Anna will be leading our worship service. They are a young couple who faithfully worked with our youth group for several years leading worship. A love offering will be collected as a thank you for service!

This summer, June – August, the Kentwood Christian Church Family will be encouraged to participate in the “I Believe Outloud” faith share challenge. In humble boldness and with the Spirits leading, we will uncompromisingly share with our community that the Bible is Gods once and for all truth, for all times, for all people, and salvation is found in no other name than Jesus Christ. We must each dare to believe God’s truth outloud and engage a postmodern world that says there is no standard for right or wrong, all religions are equal, all lifestyles acceptable, and absolute truth is an illusion, because everything is relative to the individual. Postmodernism is a lie of Satan. There is an absolute truth and that absolute truth is the Father, Son, Spirit, and the Holy Bible they have given us!
